You may not have met David Brown yet, but if you’ve walked through our Brown Bean Cafe Coffee Bar, you’ve seen some of his work!

Dave is the youngest child of Stanley and Nona Brown and has great memories of growing up in the orchards. He remembers his grandmother grading fruit while talking with customers at the old stand. He also recalls doing a lot of weeding in the fields, hauling peaches with his grandfather and, of course, helping to assemble fruit baskets in his parents’ basement.

Dave graduated from Dallastown High School in 1982 and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1986 with a degree in Management Information Systems. He has since worked in Cockeysville, Towson, St. Louis and Chicago for companies like Black & Decker, Anheuser Busch, Bosch, Hitachi and PepsiCo doing development and analysis of business software systems.

Dave and his wife, Mary, returned to Loganville in November of 2006. Mary, an attorney, was able to continue with her same employer at a Maryland office. They are expecting their first child in March.

Dave is excited to be back at Brown’s, this time as Vice President. While working away from the family business, he has certainly seen the “old fruit stand” undergo a lot of changes. He was in college when the first market opened in 1984. He lived in Chicago during the market’s major expansion of 2000. Now, Dave has implemented some changes - including the Brown Bean Cafe, online ordering, and (coming shortly) a point-of-sale system at our registers. Dave is soaking in the knowledge his parents have gained over the last six decades, and he’s anxious to lend his expertise to ready Brown’s Orchards & Farm Market for future growth...continuing the tradition of quality.
