Sharon Burnette became part of the Brown’s family about six years ago. Previous to being one of our capable clerks, Sharon was a stay-at-home wife and mother of four girls.
Born in Washington, D.C., Sharon grew up in Illinois and moved to Maryland as a young teen when her parents opened a company selling first aid supplies to businesses. She graduated from Loch Raven High School and went on to Maryland Institute College of Art for two years.
Sharon speaks with pride about all of her girls. Oldest daughter, Karen, has a business/finance degree from Susquehanna University and is planning a 2009 wedding. In November 2006, daughter Stephanie made Sharon a grandmother which she thoroughly enjoys.
In 1991, Sharon married second husband, Allen, who she calls the love of her life. Allen has worked at McCormick & Company for nearly 35 years. A year after their marriage, along came twin daughters. Allison, who enjoys art, and Amanda, who is involved in track & field, are sophomores at Susquehannock High School. Because of her twins, Sharon has been an active member of the York White Rose Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club for 14 years. Her family enjoys camping on Kerr Lake in North Carolina - Allen’s homestead. They also enjoy visiting covered bridges which is a hobby that began on their honeymoon in New Hampshire.
The Burnettes live in Shrewsbury in a home that was built in 1919 which they enjoy working on together. However, Sharon is not a woman who waits to get work done - she’ll do it herself. Allen is not surprised if he comes home from work and a wall is moved!
Last October, Allen was diagnosed with a form of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. They intend on fighting and beating the disease so they can live a long life together. Sharon is especially thankful to
everyone for their support and prayers.
